  1. BlogPost Overview of ACUTE & Polis Network workshops - Connecting practitioners' expectations from research

    What do practitioners expect from research? To answer this question, ACUTE organised some workshops during the Polis Network events, inviting practitioners to reflect on their interaction with academic fields. We used different approaches. The first took place in Leuven and focused on the questions : What research should start/stop/continue to boost the relevance of urban planning ? The second took place in Utrecht and shed light on the need for communication around the concepts. The final workshop highlighted that the needs of practitioners vary depending on the stage of implementation.

    How to bridge the gap between academic insights and practitioners'needs ? This short article retraces the seminars organised by the ACUTE project, where a number of research questions emerged on the subject of the 15-min City. The seminars provided an opportunity to learn from practitioners such as Oriana Kraemer from Karlsruhe City Council, who gave us her perspective on the obstacles and good practices that can be used to facilitate collaboration between research and practice in urban planning projects.
